The forest fires that broke out in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, and Minami-ku, Okayama City, have continued to spread as of the third day, the 25th. The fire in Imabari City has burned approximately 214 hectares, making it the largest in the prefecture since the Heisei era. Five helicopters from the Self-Defense Forces and the prefectures of Tokushima and Ehime have been spraying water from the air, while firefighters are working to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas. Evacuation orders have been issued for 1,345 households and 2,585 people, with 166 households and 192 people having evacuated. Shikoku Electric Power has halted partial power transmission for firefighting efforts, leaving about 10 homes without electricity. There have been instances of localized fire spread, causing concern among residents.
Meanwhile, the fire in Okayama City, which had weakened on the 24th, expanded by approximately 50 hectares on the 25th due to wind, bringing the burned area to about 300 hectares. Firefighters and Self-Defense Force helicopters continue aerial firefighting efforts, while ground crews are working through the night. Nearby elementary and junior high schools have postponed their closing ceremonies originally scheduled for the 25th.

愛媛県今治市と岡山市南区飽浦で発生した山林火災は、25日で発生から3日目を迎え、いずれも延焼が続いている。今治市の火災は約214ヘクタールが焼損し、平成以降で県内最大規模となった。自衛隊や徳島・愛媛両県のヘリ5機が空から散水し、消防が住宅への延焼を防ぐため対応している。西条市と合わせ1345世帯2585人に避難指示が出され、166世帯192人が避難した。四国電力は消火活動のため一部送電を停止し、約10戸で停電が続いている。局地的な飛び火があり、住民からは不安の声が上がっている。
一方、岡山市の火災は24日に火の勢いが収まったが、25日に風の影響で約50ヘクタール拡大し、焼損面積は約300ヘクタールに達した。消防と自衛隊のヘリが空から消火活動を行い、地上では夜を徹して消火作業が続く。付近の小中学校は25日の終業式を延期した。
